Dr. Stephen Marr

Senior Lecturer, Peace and Conflict Studies, Malmo University

Stephen Marr is a senior lecturer in Peace and Conflict Studies. I received my PhD in Political Science from the University of Florida in 2008, specializing in Comparative Politics, Political Theory and African Studies. My dissertation examined the relationship between formal, state-led urban planning techniques and the everyday uses of space in Gaborone, the capital city of Botswana. Currently, I am at work on a long-term comparative urban studies project that seeks to place African-focused approaches to urban theory at the center of a rethinking of contemporary urban theory.
