The Department of International Relations at Gadjah Mada University (DIHI UGM) welcomed freshmen undergraduate students on Thursday (1/8) at 08:30 AM in the Auditorium Fisipol. This year, the S-1 Program admitted 135 new students, consisting of 85 students in the Regular Program and 50 students in the International Undergraduate Program (IUP).
Dr. Randy W. Nandyatama, Head of the Undergraduate Program, introduced the lecturer, administrative staff, and members of the Institute of International Studies (IIS), a research institution under the Department of International Relations. Additionally, the International Relations Student Corps (Komahi), represented by the Chairman and the Head of the Information and Communication Division, introduced various organizational and committee activities available to students. These activities are designed to broaden networks, gain additional experience, and develop skills in both academic and non-academic areas.
The welcoming event for new magister students took place on Monday (5/8) at 10:00 AM in the Seminar Timur, Fisipol. A total of 56 students were admitted to the master’s program, including 40 students in the Master of Arts in International Relations (MAIR) and 16 students with a focus on Digital Transformation and Competitiveness (DTC).
The event began with a speech by Dr. Nur Rachmat Yuliantoro, Head of the HI UGM Department, followed by an introduction to the academic community led by Dr. Muhammad Rum, Head of the S-2 Program. During the event, several faculty members, including Prof. Mohtar Mas’oed, Dr. Siti Mutiah Setiawati, Dr. Dafri, and Dr. Diah Kusumaningrum, addressed the new students. They encouraged the students to complete their studies within a maximum of 3 years, prepare thoroughly by counting down to their target graduation year, and respect diversity. The final session included a turn-by-turn introduction of the new students. Students from various majors and regions across Indonesia came together to begin a new chapter at DIHI UGM.
