Course Description

Almost everyone knows what must be done to ensure a democratic nation, a war-free world, a global temperature rise below 1.5°C, eradication of corruption, a halt to pollution, an end to sexual violence, averting flooding, ensuring classes start on time, and so on. The question is, why can’t we solve these problems? An idea can be excellent. However, if it isn’t feasible, it’s useless. The 2024 Strategy Class focuses on individual and collective action and interaction that can be used to understand a problem, potential resolution scenarios, and what needs to be anticipated to achieve social order.

Participants in the 2024 Strategy Class are expected to be final-year students who have completed required classes and have a solid understanding of theories in International Relations (IR). Although it falls under the Politics and Global Security (PKG) program, this class can be taken by students with other study concentrations.

Expected Learning Outcome

  1. Evaluate the principles and mechanisms of strategic interaction and collective action
  2. Select strategies to create and improve social order
  3. Design strategies to emancipate from social disorder
