Course Description

Gender and Politics (GenPol) emphasizes respect for fellow human beings. More specifically, GenPol positions its members (students, tutors, and lecturers) as equal learning resources. Each GenPol member plays a vital role in facilitating the learning and unlearning of other GenPol members. All work together to ensure a safe and comfortable learning space, foster meaningful interactions (non-transactional, non-extractive), maintain an open mind, arrive on time, put away gadgets, and implement zero tolerance for various forms of violence, including bullying, plagiarism, and free riding. Because every GenPol member is a learning resource, decisions to skip class, arrive late to class, neglect assignments, play with their gadgets, cheat, etc. are all things that hinder the learning process of other class members.

Expected Learning Outcome

  1. Critically evaluate various feminist perspectives
  2. Formulate a research agenda in the field of gender justice
